Miami University Increases Productivity with Innovative Floor Cleaning Robots
Zeeland, Mich.— 1/16/24 Miami University proudly announces it is entering a new era of innovation and excellence by integrating Cobi 18, an autonomous floor scrubber by ICE Cobotics, into its daily operations. The university is utilizing the technology in the Clinical Health Science and Wellness facility and the McVey Data Science building to put the most efficient tools in staff’s hands so they can successfully meet quality and service goals.
The new-to-campus state-of-the-art buildings each boast walls of glass and windows, making them beautiful to look at while also requiring ample amounts of time to clean. In addition, the Health Science building alone has nearly forty restrooms that staff must maintain. By implementing Cobi 18, the university can make sure the floors receive attention while staff focus on other critical tasks, increasing productivity and quality cleaning.
“I am thrilled to introduce Cobi, our cutting-edge autonomous floor care solution. This innovative technology isn't just about efficiency, it's a game-changer for our dedicated staff. Cobi empowers our team to focus on delivering top-tier quality work, ensuring our spaces reflect the excellence synonymous with Miami University. It's not just about clean floors, it's about providing our staff the tools they need to shine in their commitment to excellence."

It's all about making our staff's job effective and ensuring our building shines."-Lacinda Harrod, Buildings & Ground Manager
Due to its advanced navigation, easy-to-use user interface, and simple mapping process, any member of the janitorial staff can deploy Cobi at any time of day. By deploying the cobot, collaborative robot, multiple times a day, Miami University demonstrates its dedication to precise and efficient cleaning practices and solidifies its position at the forefront of providing exceptional learning facilities.
Cobi 18’s sophisticated navigation system makes it ideal for Miami University's state-of-the-art facilities as it can be deployed and left to safely clean floors and navigate foot traffic and obstacles. Additionally, Cobi is offered through an all-inclusive subscription making it a hassle-free and inexpensive way for Miami University to add innovative solutions while focusing on operational excellence.
